Your Questions, Answered

  • Small-batch Bakehouse means we make all our cakes in small batches or quantities, everyday. We bake on site with locally sourced ingredients and seasonal products. A bakehouse, in the English context, refers to cakes and baked treats. We do not bake bread.

We are very proud of our baked products and endeavour to continue to deliver the highest quality with a homemade twist.

  • Many people are curious about how our cafe received its name. The answer is multi-faceted: Firstly, we are located on a street named ‘Kransbindarvagen’ which means ‘crown binder or garland maker’. We are in the gorgeous, leafy suburb of ‘Midsommarkransen’ - which is translated to ‘Midsummer Flower Crown’…so what is the last piece of this puzzle? Wildflowers, of course!

We love the tradition of the midsummer flower crown and when naming the cafe, it was meaningful to connect our concept to the culture and history of the local area.

Additionally, for us, Wildflower represents a certain spirit. Determined, courageous and bold, spreading untamed beauty on the wind.

“Be not a rose, for remember that wildflowers grow in the most peculiar of places, with strength in their roots, not in their thorns.” -Unknown

Wildflower Bakery encapsulates this energy in its concept, in its creative ambitions, by its owner and her daughter- a forever wildflower girl- who, like her mamma, dreams big dreams and wants to create beauty in her everyday, in her way.

Meet the FOUNDER

The café is led by Emma - a founder, whose practice brings together art, design, and food as interconnected forms of making. She studied Architecture at Central Saint Martins (London) followed by further study at the Royal Institute of Art (Stockholm), where her work centred on creativity, urban production and artistic process—an approach that continues to inform her baking, space and cultural development. She later completed a Master’s in Urban Planning at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, grounding her work in how thoughtfully crafted spaces and shared rituals around food can foster community and participation.

Alongside this, she brings over 18 years of experience in hospitality across London, Paris, and Australia, including founding Frankie's Coffee. This dual background—creative and operational—underpins a way of working that is both conceptually driven and highly attuned to the realities of running a space.

Her wider experience includes involvement in artistic and cultural projects across multiple contexts, spanning programme support, project development, and delivery. These strands come together in a cohesive practice centred on creating environments that invite engagement—where food, craft, and culture are part of the same everyday experience.

The café is a direct expression of this approach: a carefully considered environment shaped as much by atmosphere and detail as by its role as a social and creative hub.
